An Entrepreneurial Mindset Can Lead To Success
by Frankie Mooney | January 9th, 2021

For over 20 years, using psychotechnologies like hypnosis and NLP, I've been supporting and promoting the entrepreneurial mindset. I've been responsible for developing and leading Government initiatives for introducing enterprise into education and my lifelong learning strategies are in schools and learning centres all over the world some 15 years later. What does that actually mean and why should having an entrepreneurial mindset be useful for someone who isn't necessarily interested in being an entrepreneur per se?

Well an entrepreneurial mindset is all about thinking differently from the rest of the crowd. It’s about approaching life and work differently from the way everyone else does and it is the most important thing you need to have to constantly move forward and achieve all your goals.

Thinking like an entrepreneur means going beyond what you see, finding different ways of accomplishing your aims, learning from your mistakes, and always searching for ways of advancing.
An entrepreneurial mindset helps you to view and approach challenges as well as mistakes from a different perspective. It enables you to think forward, constantly improve your skills, and always take action.

A couple of years back, everything I had worked for seemed to disappear right in front of my eyes. My startup was doing great for a couple of months but somehow things started to take a completely different turn. Sales were low, attracting new customers became more difficult, and most processes took more money out of the business than was coming in. It was a difficult time. Nonetheless, the entrepreneur in me never gave in to defeat. I never accepted failure and never thought of quitting because I knew what I wanted to achieve.

I knew that the only way of turning things around and getting what I wanted from my business was to take charge. So, I sat down and retraced my steps. I recalled the first time I envisioned the startup, reflected on how a simple idea turned into something that I was proud of, and where it all went wrong. I thought of where I went wrong and prioritized rectifying all my mistakes. I managed to trace some of the biggest mistakes that had a huge impact on the business and I owned up to them.

Owning up to my mistakes didn’t just help me to correct them but it allowed me to try out different approaches and consult with the right people.

Trying to do things on your own is one of the most common mistakes that entrepreneurs make but an entrepreneurial mindset is about being able to work with other people, seeking advice from the right people as well as learning from those who have gone before you.

One thing that gave me more confidence in my ability to get things back on track was accepting positive feedback and constructive criticism from the right people. I asked for advice, listened, and used what I knew would work. After a couple of months, I managed to get my startup back on track, expanded my client-base, and increased sales by 90 percent.

Having an entrepreneurial mindset means owning up to your mistakes, remaining true to your vision, daily working on your goal, and having confidence in your capabilities.

An entrepreneurial mindset is all you need to succeed in life because it enables you to continuously move forward. You are constantly looking for ways of improving as well as reaching your goals, and you never let anything get in the way.

You face every challenge that comes your way and use it to get yet another step closer to your main goal. You view each day as an opportunity to grow, try something new, and make adjustments where necessary. You aren’t afraid to take risks because you know the significance of taking calculated risks in attaining your greatest ambitions.

Having an entrepreneurial mentality means writing down your vision, breaking it down to manageable goals, and committing to bringing it to life. It means knowing what you want to achieve in life, doing the best you can to accomplish it, and learning all you can about what you desire to attain.

Entrepreneurs keep their ultimate goal in sight so they are constantly reminded of where they are headed. This means you wake up each morning with something exciting to look forward to. You prioritize meeting your deadlines and reaching your daily goals because you know that every step you take and every decision you make affects your ultimate goal.

Approaching life with an entrepreneurial attitude is a smart way of advancing your knowledge in your various fields of endeavor because entrepreneurs are always curious and curiosity enables them to keep advancing and better understand what they are doing. They are aware of the significance of books in advancing their knowledge and always set aside time to read and discover better ways of executing their ideas.

An entrepreneurial mindset can improve your performance.

The best way of improving your productivity levels and ensuring you always deliver beyond expectations is by adopting the entrepreneurial mindset. This is because it keeps you focused on providing excellence, living beyond expectations, trying out new things, improving your skills, taking risks, facing challenges, as well as finding new ways of approaching or dealing with mistakes.

To your success,

Frankie
